simplely hacked from memcached and tugela. But neither of them.
Memcachedb is not a cache solution, it is a persistent solution for
high-frequency writing and reading. It conforms to memcache protocol
(not completed, see below), so any memcached client can have
connectivity with memcachedb. Memcachedb uses Berkeley DB as a storing
backend, so lots of features including transaction and replication are
supported.

We don't need to bother with the situations, when /etc/make.conf, etc.
are updated between configure and build.
The way things are now, linking might break in certain cases because
LDFLAGS is set to empty string (instead of being unset).

This can happen if bsd.perl.mk was not included before or during the
inclusion of bsd.port.pre.mk. As of bsd.port.mk 1.586 this can't yet
happen, as bsd.perl.mk is included unconditionally, so this checkin should
be a no-op.
While here, reserve WANT_PERL for ports that conditionally depend on Perl.
WANT_PERL will need to be defined before bsd.port.pre.mk is included.

maintainership -- with the previous maintainer's approval.
Remove explicit requirements for shared library major numbers of
dependencies. Like in almost all other ports, these quite gratuitous.
Scale the build to multiple CPUs, if available on the building
system.
Automatically run vendor's self-tests (unless disabled via OPTIONS).
Apply DOS2UNIX to a number of files including the HTML pages.
NB: ImageMagick's configure tries to detect an OpenMP-capable compiler.
This /may/ be a problem, when gcc-4.2 (such as on 7.x) or greater is
used... An explicit `--disable-openmp' may be needed...

1. Update to xscrabble 2.12
2. Fix typo in pkg-descr and trim trailing blanks
"You might be able to improve upon this"
This port does something I don't like: it installs an empty,
unwritable scrabble_scores file in a directory whose contents
shouldn't be modified. Players then need to override the
app-defaults by placing a
XScrabble.scorefile: /path/to/scrabble_scores
line in $HOME/.Xdefaults (or $HOME/.Xresources, whatever).
Wouldn't it make more sense to create a new, empty, writable
score file under /var/games (if it doesn't exist) upon
package installation; make the app-defaults file reference that;
on deinstall, remove /var/games/scrabble_scores if it is empty or
print a message indicating this file needs to be deleted manually
in order to remove all traces?

MPEG4(AVI/MOV/MP4/MP3/3GP) converter
flv2mpeg4 allows you convert a Flash Video / FLV file
(YouTube's videos,etc) to MPEG4 (AVI/MOV/MP4/MP3/3GP) file
online. It is using a compressed domain transcoder technology
(outline in Japanese). It converts FLV to MPEG4 faster and
less lossy than a typical transcoder.

Include patches up to 2007-09-19 (later patches are difficult to include as
provided because they will not apply cleanly and would need to be recreated
as a cumulative FreeBSD port patch).
Add the HTTP mirrors to MASTER_SITES as in www/squid and remove a dead
FTP mirror.
Use the new configuration directive squid-default-user and remove code
from the port that implemented that functionality.
Remove reference to squid.sh from pkg-message.in because the rc script
does no longer have a .sh suffix on any supported FreeBSD version.
Notable change: SNMP support is now enabled by default, mirroring the
change in Squid itself. To disable it, specify WITHOUT_SQUID_SNMP or
reconfigure the port accordingly with "make config".

Add the GUI interface for Bacula, bat is the GUI inteface for Bacula.
Bacula is a set of computer programs that permit you (or the system
administrator) to manage backup, recovery, and verification of
computer data across a network of computers of different kinds.
In technical terms, it is a network Client/Server based backup program.
Bacula is relatively easy to use and efficient, while offering many
advanced storage management features that make it easy to find and
recover lost or damaged files. Due to its modular design, Bacula is
scalable from small single computer systems to systems consisting of
hundreds of computers located over a large network.

A year or so ago I emailed these patches to the maintainer
and didn't get any feedback. Just rediscovered them so
figured I should submit them before they get lost...
patch-bioscursor
Fixes the BIOS cursor handling so that programs such as the
DOS edit.com and qbasic.exe work correctly
patch-desqview-timeslice
Allows INT15 timeslicing so that programs which support it
can avoid 100% CPU utilization
patch-quitemode
Adds a -Q option which suppresses all video IO. Also helps
optimize the input behavior especially when polling for
input.
patch-fossil-support
Adds a -F option which enables support for FOSSIL IO using stdio.

Some ports require unzipped source of cclient.
For example, one of the ports with such problem is the

in the include/cclient solves this problem by using standard

The program /usr/bin/install-info doesn't exist in case
the base system has been compiled with NO_INFO. This causes
an error during installation of sysutils/screen because one
of screen's make files rely on this program.
I added handling of NO_INFO (and NO_MAN by the way). I suggest
to let screen depend on print/texinfo if the user doesn't define
NO_INFO and /usr/bin/install-info doesn't exist.

The game quantum minigolf is nearly the same as the game minigolf
- except that the ball obeys the laws of quantum mechanics.
Such a ball can be at several places at once. It can diffract around
obstacles and interfere with itself. Apart from that, the rules are
the same: You can play on various tracks involving various obstacles.
You hit the ball with a club and try to kick it into a hole on the
other side of the track.

DoCoMo's Open Source SEND project provides an implementation of
RFC3971 Secure Neighbor Discovery (SEND). SEND cryptographically
secures the IPv6 neighbor discovery protocol, countering the threats
discussed in RFC3756 (IPv6 Neighbor Discovery (ND) Trust Models and
Threats).
DoCoMo's SEND is implemented completely in user space, so it is
portable and lends itself to experimentation. It currently runs on
Linux (tested on 2.6 kernels) and FreeBSD (tested on 5.4).
Also included in the distribution are implementations of RFC3972
Cryptographically Generated Addresses (CGAs) and RFC3779 X.509
Extensions for IP Addresses and AS Identifiers.

(also: update to 5.0.4)
Upon installing FoldingAtHome I ran the software from a
user account only to find that I was stuck in a loop of
trying to enter configuration options. Shortly thereafter
I realized that it was trying to write to
/usr/local/share/foldingathome, and therefore requires being
run as root to write there unless one changes permissions
there. Seing as this isn't installed with a startup script
for daemonization, and running as root seems a little
excessive for this application, should this be adapted to
run from a user account or set up to be able to start at
boot?
And from maintainer:
This diff updates the port to version 5.04, and adds
support to running as normal user using ~/.fah
directory.

development version
Dynagen is a front-end for use with the Dynamips Cisco router
emulator. It uses an INI-like configuration file to provision
Dynamips emulator networks. It takes care of specifying the right
port adapters, generating and matching up those pesky NIO descriptors,
specifying bridges, frame-relay, ATM switches, etc. It also provides
a management CLI for listing devices, suspending and reloading
instances, etc.

Received email stating "build fails on amd64 system with a
message about unsupported instructions. [...] Modifying
patch-Makefile so that -m486 / -mtune 486 option is removed
fixed the problem for me." Updated Makefile to add PORTREVISION
so that updates will be seen by ports-tools, implemented
arch suggestions for fixes, removing most mention of
architecture specific instructions. Those will likely be
in make.conf, anyway, and if so will be passed along due
to inclusion.

The attached patch fixes security/sfs so it builds with
gcc42. The only change I made that I am wary of is commenting
out the LIBTOOL variable in ${WRKSRC}/sfsrwcd/Makefile.
However, this seems to work fine on both 7.0-CURRENT and
6.2-STABLE.
In addition, I would not mind maintaining the port.
