system. It connects to eibd which is part of the BCU SDK and keeps state of
KNX devices such as lamps, window blinds, heating and so on.
Furthermore it provides a powerful, rule-based event after treatment, e.g.
for switching other KNX devices, sending e-mail or SMS or executing a shell
command. You can configure and control the LinKNX daemon using an XML-style
protocol via TCP network socket or Unix domain socket.

HTML::GoogleMaps provides a simple wrapper around the Google Maps API. It
allows you to easily create maps with markers, polylines and information
windows. Thanks to Geo::Coder::Google you can now look up locations around
the world without having to install a local database.

default. If $[CJKT]SERVER environment variable is defined, the
value is used as the server host name. In JSERVER case, for
example, the server name is determined in the following way:
$JSERVER --(if null)--> wnn-jserver --(if null)--> "unix"
If the server host name is null or matches "^unix$", unix
domain socket is used. The path name of the socket can be
specified in wnn-[cjkt]udpath custom variable.

was written as a support library for gmerlin, but it can also be
used by other applications. You don't even need gmerlin installed,
only gavl. Most of it was written completely from scratch, but the
sourcetrees of some other great software packages were used as
reference documentation. Credits go to the authors of Xine, MPlayer,
quicktime4linux and ffmpeg.
Gmerlin_avdecoder is one of the most complete general purpose media
decoding libraries. The supported formats and codecs span a wide
range of applications from consumer level (mp3, divx etc.) to high
end production formats like 32 bit PCM and some professional
uncompressed video codecs.
Using gmerlin_avdecoder in your playback for transcoding application
means rock solid media format support with an ever growing list of
supported codecs and formats.

Note that the GiST problem mentioned does not apply to users of
the FreeBSD port, since the previous version of PostgreSQL never
reached the ports tree, due to the freeze of the tree pending the
FreeBSD 7.1 update.

There were two things that prevented this port from compiling properly
on PowerPC:
- The `pthread hack' (GECKO_PTHREAD_LIBS) tried to obtain -lpthread from
the gcc dumpspecs output. It expects these compiler flags to be on the
first line of output, while on PowerPC the flags are on the second
line.
- On FreeBSD/powerpc it needs to use the Linux xptcall wrappers.
I am not entirely convinced that it works properly, though. I've seen
Firefox crash inside pthread_mutex_lock during shutdown. I'm committing
these patches anyway, because getting it to compile is already a step
forward.

There were two things missing in the nspr port that prevented it from
being properly compiled on PowerPC:
- A string definition of the processor platform ("powerpc").
- Definitions of byte ordering and sizes of standard C types.
I copied the second list of definitions from _linux.cfg. The values used
by _openbsd.cfg and _netbsd.cfg are not accurate (size and alignment of
int64 is incorrect).
