* sysutils/moosefs-* update to 2.0.72-1feld2015-08-131-0/+22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The update to 2.0.72-1 includes splitting the sysutils/moosefs-master port into several new ports to achieve better modularization. This matches the approach upstream has taken with their own FreeBSD packages which they were distributing via their own pkgng repository. Further details are provided in the UPDATING entry. Upstream MooseFS team is now taking maintainership of these ports. PR: 199342 PR: 199343 PR: 199344 PR: 199345 PR: 199346 PR: 199347 PR: 199348 PR: 199349

| | | | | | | | | | | | | The port now uses VersionAddendum in the sshd_config to allow overriding this value. Using "none" allows disabling the default of the port version string. The default is kept to show the port version string to remain close to the base version. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The X.Org server has been updated to 1.14. The changes it brings are described in a post on the Graphics team blog: http://blogs.freebsdish.org/graphics/2014/11/19/xserver-1-14-update-ready/ The most noticable change is the DEVD input device autodetection backend which is enabled by default, replacing the HAL backend. The keyboard layout configuration must be migrated from HAL's .fdi files to X.Org files. The procedure is explained in the post mentionned above. Several ports were removed with this update, mainly because they are not compatible with the X.Org server anymore: o nvidia-driver-71 o nvidia-driver-96 o xf86-input-egalax o xf86-video-newport o xf86-video-tga PR: 155696, 181660, 183478 (partially fixed), 188640, 191331 Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D1337 Submitted by: ak (most of the work on the DEVD backend), dumbbell, kwm, zeising Tested by: Many people on freebsd-x11@ and IRC Reviewed by: kwm, portmgr (antoine) Approved by: kwm, portmgr (antoine)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since CentOS 6.5 landed in the portstree and was updated to CentOS 6.6 and we've fixed the remaining issues, it's time to replace Fedora 10 as Linux default -- given that in the past five years it has done its service and has long since gone EOL upstream. The CentOS 6 series will go End of Life in 2020, this should give us some time to keep its annual releases up to date. If you have not switched to using CentOS 6.6 ports, please refer to today's UPDATING entry -- it contains detailed instructions. If you have already switched to CentOS 6.6 userland, you can now remove the following two lines from make.conf: OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=c6 OVERRIDE_LINUX_NONBASE_PORTS=c6 If you encounter any difficulties, please follow the UPDATING entry from 20140922 but skip step 2. In case these steps do not fix the issues, please submit an issue report in Bugzilla and send an email to FreeBSD's emulation mailing list. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 19 months have passed since the release of 3.0.0 and there have been 1259 commits from over 24 contributors. Though many of the bugfixes did make it into the 3.0 branch, not all of them did. 3.1 brings many speedups, new features and commands, a new web interface, and build hooks. The new web interface works at a top-level, jail-level and the build-level still by using a static site with AJAX. There is a queue system that is not quite ready yet but should make it into 3.2. The release notes documenting the major changes is at https://github.com/freebsd/poudriere/wiki/release_notes_31 Thank you to everyone involved. Support can be found in #poudriere on Freenode.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | first contains runtime libraries such as libintl and the latter contains developer tools such as msgfmt. Ports that use gettext will usually need a LIB_DEPENDS on gettext-runtime and a BUILD_DEPENDS on gettext-tools. USES=gettext-runtime can be used to set a LIB/BUILD/RUN_DEPENDS on devel/gettext-runtime and USES=gettext-tools can be used to set a BUILD/RUN_DEPENDS on devel/gettext-tools. USES=gettext is now the same as "USES=gettext-runtime gettext-tools" meaning a LIB_DEPENDS on devel/gettext-runtime and a BUILD_DEPENDS on devel/gettext-tools. Update gettext to 0.19.3. Remove :oldver from converters/libiconv and devel/gettext-runtime. Leave symlinks with the old library versions to avoid the need to bump PORTREVISION on a large number of dependent ports. When most of the dependent ports have had normal version updates, PORTREVISION can be bumped on the remaining ones (low number) and the links can be removed. It uses a version dependent directory for modules with compiled bits. As PERL_ARCH is no longer needed in plists, it has been removed from PLIST_SUB. The USE_PERL5=fixpacklist keyword is removed, the .packlist file is now always removed, as is perllocal.pod. The old site_perl and site_perl/arch directories have been kept in the default Perl @INC for all Perl ports, and will be phased out as these old Perl versions expire. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Gnome 3.14.1 and Cinnamon 2.2.16 are supported on FreeBSD 9.3-RELEASE and up. This commit removes the old GNOME 2 desktop, bindings and some ports that can't be compiled. A few ports where updated to more recent versions to allow them to compile with this update. Apart from updating ports to newer versions GDM is more integrated with gnome-shell now, and handles several things for the GNOME desktop such as screen locking. If you want to use GNOME 3 via startx, you will have to add your own lock screen/screensaver. For example xscreensaver can be used for sessions started without GDM. Shell Extensions can be installed via https://extensions.gnome.org/ , we have ported a few that can't be installed via this way. The old gnome-utils and gnome-games ports where split up into single ports and where converted to meta-ports. gnome-terminal requires a UTF-8 locale to run, gdm handles this already, but if you use startx you need to do this yourself. Upgrade instructions: Delete the old and conflicting packages: # pkg delete clutter gnome-utils gnome-panel gnome-keyring vala-vapigen \ guile gcalctool gnome-media libgnomekbd # pkg delete gnome-screensaver gnome-applets bug-buddy evolution-exchange \ evolution-webcal gnome-system-tools seahorse-plugins gnome-control-center For package users the following lines will be enough: # pkg upgrade # pkg install gnome3 For ports users should do the following: # portmaster -a # portmaster x11/gnome3 We are currently aware of two issues. The first issue is a bug in the file monitoring code in the glib20 port. This bug causes glib programs to crash when files in a monitored directory are added or removed. Upstream is aware of the problem, but since the problem is quite complex there is no solution yet. This problem isn't restricted to BSD. The second issue is that on certain video cards totem will display a purple/pink overlay on the video. It not clear yet where the issues comes from. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Fedora 10 infrastructure ports have been in use since June 2009 and, while having served a great deed, have become unsupported upstream and hence affected by unfixed security vulnerabilities. In addition to that, many recent Linux binaries need newer libc / stdlibc++ versions. This commit adds the linux-c6- userland as drop-in replacement for the -f10 infrastructure, as well as upgrading the linux_base-c6 port to CentOS 6.5. Add an UPDATING entry to alert users about this. While here, make scripting support optional in `astro/stellarium-qt4', since it allows to use one less dependency. Unfortunately, this is not applicable to 0.13.0 as required `x11-toolkits/qt5-declarative' port has USE_QT5=script unconditionally. Relax USE_GL knob for both ports: only libGL itself is required, not libGLU.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | to separate ports. These ports are: www/mod_dav_svn instead of option MOD_DAV_SVN. security/subversion-gnome-keyring instead of option GNOME_KEYRING. security/subversion-kwallet instead of option KDE_KWALLET. If you used devel/subversion with one (or more) of these non-standard options, you should install appropriate port after subversion upgrade. "mod_dontdothat" is installed unconditionally by www/mod_dav_svn port (it has been depended on TOOLS option), but is not activated by default, you may need to edit apache's configuration file. devel/subversion port now installs svndiff, svndiff3 and svndiff4 commands if TOOLS option is enabled. They was skipped before. Official names "diff", "diff3" and "diff4" are prefixed with "svn" to avoid conflicts with base and other diff versions. All libraries and binaries are now stripped if MAINTAINER_DEBUG option is not selected (including all sub-ports, like bindings and mod_dav_svn).

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | a zeising, kwm production, with help from dumbbell, bdrewery: NEW XORG ON FREEBSD 9-STABLE AND 10-STABLE This update switches over to use the new xorg stack by default on FreeBSD 9 and 10 stable, on osversions where vt(9) is available. It is still possible to use the old stack by specifying WITHOUT_NEW_XORG in /etc/make.conf . FreeBSD 8-STABLE and released versions of FreeBSD still use the old version. A package repository with binary packages for new xorg will be available soon. This patch also contains updates of libxcb and related ports, pixman, as well as some drivers and utilities. Bump portrevisions for xf86-* ports, as well as virtualbox-ose-additions due to xserver version change. Apart from these updates, the way shared libraries are handled has been changed for all xorg ports, as well as libxml2 and freetype, which means ltverhack is gone and as a consequence shared libraries have been bumped. The plan is that this change will make library bumps less likely in the future. All affected ports have had their portrevisions bumped as a consequence of this. Fix some issues where WITH_NEW_XORG weren't detected properly on CURRENT.
