very long and if some dependencies can't be added into the list.
[1]
- Fix FAM support. Make gamin the default FAM system. [2]
- Introduce new 'quicksearch' target to show only port, path and
info section of the matching ports. [3]
- Introduce new category - rubygems. [4]
- Fix stale dependencies while installing qmail slaveport and
another port that depends on qmail. [5]
- Add commentary for describes target in bsd.port.mk. [6]
- Fix warning issued during make index on archs !368. [7]
- Add USE_DOS2UNIX variable. If set to "YES", remove the ^M from
all files under ${WRKSRC}. If set to a string, remove in all files
under ${WRKSRC} with one of these names the ^Ms. [8]
- Add new variables PERL_RUN_DEPENDS and PERL_BUILD_DEPENDS by
checking the existance of the Perl modules with the "perl -e 'use
module;'" command. [9]
- Fix bsd.port.mk variable quoting issues. No quoting is necessary
anymore either in the Makefile or on the command line. Affected
variables include:
BROKEN
FORBIDDEN
IGNORE
MANUAL_PACKAGE_BUILD
NO_CDROM
NO_PACKAGE
RESTRICTED
[10]
- Add NOFETCHFILES variable. If set, don't download these files
from the ${MASTER_SITES} or ${MASTER_SITE_BACKUP} (but do from
${MASTER_SITE_OVERRIDE}). [11]
- Improve 'search' target output. [12]
- Add a new virtual category for Amateur Radio - hamradio. [13]
- Cleanup some old/unused pathes in bsd.port.mk. [14]
- Add @dirrmtry for plists which does the same as:
"@unexec rmdir %D/foo 2>/dev/null || true" [15]
- Remove virtual category - offix. [16]
- Use portsnap instead of cvsup or cvs on "make update" in
/usr/ports. [17]
- Move location of bsd.autotools.mk within bsd.port.mk [18]
- Add bsd.linux-rpm.mk, fix INSTALLS_SHLIB for Linux ports [19]
- Use new USE_RC_SUBR format for FreeBSD version >= 700007 [20]
- Replace the string "FreeBSD" by "The FreeBSD Project" in the
security warning [21]
- Add bsd.local.mk for local modification to ports framework. [22]
- Replace rcNG spelling by rc.d [23]
- Remove superfluous USE_REINPLACE. [24]

attached to a host computer through serial or USB ports,
making all data on the location/course/velocity of the
sensors available to be queried on TCP port 2947 of the
host computer. With gpsd, multiple GPS client applications
(such as navigational and wardriving software) can share
access to GPSes without contention or loss of data. Also,
gpsd responds to queries with a format that is substantially
easier to parse than the NMEA 0183 emitted by most GPSes.

in bsd.autotools.mk essentially makes this a no-op given that all the
old variables set a USE_AUTOTOOLS_COMPAT variable, which is parsed in
exactly the same way as USE_AUTOTOOLS itself.
Moreover, USE_AUTOTOOLS has already been extensively tested by the GNOME
team -- all GNOME 2.12.x ports use it.
Preliminary documentation can be found at:
http://people.FreeBSD.org/~ade/autotools.txt
which is in the process of being SGMLized before introduction into the
Porters Handbook.

This appears to require 5 digits after the decimal point. Specifying
6 would pinpoint the location to about 11 cm in a north/south
direction and about 8 in east/wast, which is too specific for moving
beings.

- USE_LINUX now implies NO_FILTER_SHLIBS=yes. It also doesn't use FreeBSD
tools to strip binaries anymore, so it's not neccesary anymore to override
STRIP and STRIP_CMD.
- USE_LINUX_PREFIX implies NO_MTREE now.
- In the USE_LINUX case, USE_XLIB now depends upon the linux X11 libraries
instead upon the native FreeBSD libraries.
- The variable LINUX_BASE_PORT contains a string which is suitable as an
item in *_DEPENDS, so if a port BATCH_DEPENDS or FETCH_DEPENDS upon the
default (or overriden) linux base, ${LINUX_BASE_PORT} should be used
instead of a hardcoded reference.
- Change all ports to comply to the "new world order".
- The Ports Collection now allows to override the default linux_base port.
Specify e.g. OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=rh-9 in /etc/make.conf to use
${PORTSDIR}/emulators/linux_base-rh-9 (the logic is to use
${PORTSDIR}/emulators/linux_base-${OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT}).
- If USE_LINUX or OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE doesn't point to an existing linux_base
port and if USE_LINUX isn't set to "yes" (case insensitive), the port will
be marked as IGNORE. [1]
- Readd USE_LINUX knobs into several ports and make several uses of a
conditional dependency ("USE_LINUX?=") into an unconditional one
("USE_LINUX=") which where removed/changed by Trevor to allow the use of
alternative linux_base ports. While this is a nice goal, the implementation
resulted in missing dependencies. The OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT knob
in this commit is supposed to fix the problem while keeping the feature.
Basicaly this includes a backout of Trevor's commit, to prevent confusion
I mention it here explicitely.
- Use the correct prefix (X11- instead of LOCAL- or LINUX-) for some ports.
Chase dependencies for this.
- Changes to make linux_devtools installable on amd64, remove some stray
device nodes (they don't work on recent OS versions and aren't really
needed).
- Make linux_base-8 PREFIX clean and remove some stray device nodes.
Additionally tell a little bit more about how to setup NIS/YP [2].
- Update the PGSQL dependency in the linux-opengroupware port to a recent
version (the old one isn't available anymore), I don't know if this
works (at least it isn't more broken than before).
- Use PREFIX/usr/share/doc instead of PREFIX/usr/doc in the divx4linux
ports, the former path exists already and gets populated by other
packages too (PREFIX=LINUXPREFIX!).
- Fix some obvious (non-linuxolator) bugs in some linux ports while being
there.
- Bump PORTREVISION where neccesary.

I think I'm technically still in Ottawa. They call it Nepean,
but it was incorporated into Ottawa about 5 years ago.
There must be a better way to find my location. I had to use
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/latlong.adp
and keep changing values until it came out as my exact location.
I blame Canada.
