Makefile
1) Missing dependancy on plibthread.so.1
Java code base
2) Added commandline debug output in multiple Java files
3) Tided comment statements, tabulation and white space to aid reading
of sections of the original source code
4) Added additional debug statements to aid diagnosis in multiple Java
files
5) Moved error logging from Zystem to be local in the RXTXPort.java
file (was never firing from Zystem); now common with rest of codebase
6) Ensured that RXTX only outputs debug level information when
requested.
7) Only enumerate the local ports on initialisation once (use of
init_clean), rather than three times.
8) Updated ports lists to reflect current usage pre FreeBSD v10 and post
v10.
9) Debug identifier inserted before all calls
10) correctly read the properties file when there are multiple java
library paths
11) Enabled the skipping of parrellel ports during scans where they are
not used by the invoking java parent base to RXTX (Still allows them to
be manually specified in gn.io.parellel env arg)
SerialImp.c
12) Tidied code indentation (where needed, it is a medium length file
and doesn't provide benifit on areas that work)
13) Added standard out debug support to allow for assessment of
interaction with Java code that can be compiled in (DEBUG_STDOUT)
14) Added entry and exist debug statement for key functions
15) where sprintf is being used, ensure that the existing ptr refers to
an empty string (uses memset to sizeof)
16) cleared up display tabulation of function headers in entire file (on
second enumeration strings contained garbage)
17) Remove LEAVE and ENTRY functions as not working as expected in
header.
18) Made sure all debug statements are null pointer terminated (note
sprintf is not solely used for debug message formatting)
19) Added condition so that a port that is in use during testread() is
still reported as selectable. (If you attempt to open it after the port
scan and it is still EBUSY the behaviour is unaltered and will throw a
suitable error back)
20) Disabled uucp for lpt ports, as uucp only applies to tty on
FreeBSD (so says the Handbook...)
21) RXTXPort:interruptEventLoop - resolved SIGABRT call to
process (intended to kill off thread not entire JRE)...
22) RXTXPort:interruptEventLoop now waits for timer in child thread to
expire before attempting to closing the thread (delay between 0 and
1000000 sleeps)
23) All debug streams for FreeBSD now forward to same function for
uniform formatting.
This fixes two downstream issues in the arduino port, which results in
missing dependancies, a core dump when uploading, or very slow port
enumeration (up to 30s in some cases) when the arduino IDE is first
started.

In base revision r281198, sockaddr_l2cap structure was changed, and
an #error which fires by default was added as a safety measure to
make sure all structure consumers are updated to initialize new
fields. This port, however, doesn't seem to use this structure, so
it should be safe to just disable the error.

I checked linrad upstream, and they still haven't fixed these two bugs. I am surprised they haven't been reported yet. Without these fixes, linrad cannot be built with gcc5.
the menu.c patch simply reverses the order of the condition. One must check the bounds constraint first! It's a pretty dumb mistake but I've seen this kind before.
The second one fails because -Werror is set. This took me a while because I couldn't figure out the relationship between ADCHANS and rxchan. In any case, setting 4 locations per channel did indeed allow the array to be big enough. (at first I thought the loop was running too high, but I finally determined the array was too small).
These were found on DragonFly that uses gcc5.
This patch has not been tested on FreeBSD but I can't how it could possibly fail.
It would be good if the ham@ maintainer reports the issue upstream.

===============================
Quisk can now transmit a message from a WAV file. Record your message at
a high level (near clipping) at 48 ksps, 16-bit, one channel (monophonic).
Then enter the file name on the Config/Config screen. Press the "File play"
button to transmit. Quisk will press the PTT button for you, and release it
during pauses. To interrupt playback, press PTT or release FilePlay so you can answer.
The "Split" button has been replaced with a "Splt" button and a "Rev" button. The "Splt"
button splits Rx and Tx; and if you click it with the right mouse button instead of the
left, it also locks the Tx frequency so tuning changes the Rx frequency. The "Rev"
button reverses the Tx and Rx frequencies. These features were suggested by Mario, DH5YM.
I added a new parameter mic_agc_level to the config file to control the mic AGC. Input levels
below mic_agc_level are ignored. The default is 0.1. Increase this (up to 1.0) to reduce the
AGC range, and reduce it to increase the AGC mic gain boost.
Philip Lee contributed a patch to the PulseAudio code to set the play buffer size.

When using GH_TAGNAME the DISTNAME would have GH_PROJECT and GH_ACCOUNT in
it. When not using GH_TAGNAME it would not have this. Now both cases
will add in the GH_PROJECT and GH_ACCOUNT.
Add special care to ensure that the DISTVERSION is not added in twice. If
a port does GH_TAGNAME=v${PORTVERSION} it will be added in twice though. For
that case DISTVERSIONPREFIX=v should be set and no GH_TAGNAME should be used.
empty() is used rather than (!defined || !${}) to support fmake.
The purpose of setting DISTNAME at all in these cases is to make it more clear
that the distfile is from *GITHUB* and to avoid collisions if a project were
to be renamed or moved. Without adding in GH_PROJECT and GH_ACCOUNT then there
are real risks that collisions on filenames would happen on renamed or moved
projects, which is fairly common. A GITHUB-generated file may not match
a custom-rolled or git-archive-rolled distfile.

Add/remove patches to/from ports to call iconv with non-const arguments.
This breaks some ports on FreeBSD 10 because base system iconv.h still has
the const qualifier. Fix this by letting USES=iconv add a build dependency
on converters/libiconv so ports can use its iconv.h (with LIBICONV_PLUG
defined) instead of the base system iconv.h.
This exposed some ports that link with libiconv when it is available instead
of using libc iconv. In these cases one of the following changes has been
made:
- patch configure scripts to test for libc iconv first
- add ac_cv_lib_iconv_libiconv=no or similar to CONFIGURE_ARGS to disable
some configure tests
- converters/wkhtmltopdf: this includes Qt4 so add a patch from devel/qt4
- lang/gcc5-aux: respect CFLAGS and friends during configure such that
LIBICONV_PLUG is defined in the iconv test, also switch to external
gettext
- mail/gnarwl: replace patches with CPPFLAGS/LIBS
- multimedia/ffmpeg2theora: remove iconv test from SConstruct and use
ICONV_LIB in port Makefile instead, also fix a bug in subtitles.c
- net-im/licq: finish conversion to cmake
- net-mgmt/bandwidthd, net-mgmt/icinga, net-mgmt/nagios, net-mgmt/nagios4:
don't need iconv
- textproc/p5-XML-TinyXML: finish conversion to USES=perl5
Other changes:
- databases/qdbm and slaves: respect CFLAGS and friends, also enable bzip2
and lzo support
- games/ldmud: respect CFLAGS and friends
- graphics/inventor: replace some patches with MAKE_ARGS/MAKE_ENV to respect
CFLAGS and friends, also remove FreeBSD/alpha patch and add missing xorg
dependencies

released in 2014. The release has only minor changes, but among them
is the ability to link against BDB 5.x instead of being restricted to 4.x.
Since the current port has "WITH_BDB_HIGHEST" set to true, the highest
available is now 5.x, and the 2.0.4 would not work with 5.x, this alone
is reason to update.
I've pinged Carl several times and committing this fix anyway but will
email Carl again as a courtesy.

For example (${OSVERSION} >= 900000 && ${OSVERSION} < 900021) is always true,
as is (${OSVERSION} > 900002 || ${OSVERSION} < 900000 && ${OSVERSION} > 800107).
Regarding patches, when an EXTRA_PATCHES is no longer needed, I remove it, when
it is always needed, I renamed it, in one case, I merged two patches.

Using this new scheme allows only setting the _tag_ or _commit hash_ in
GH_TAGNAME and not having to know the hash for a tag. This scheme will
download a tarball that has a different checksum than before due to a changed
directory name for extraction.
The following MASTER_SITES are provided to retain the old checksum and
directory structure (that require GH_COMMIT):
GH -> GHL
GITHUB -> GITHUB_LEGACY

- Remove dependencies in core
- Put testing depends in TEST_DEPENDS
- Remove unnecessary bsd.port.options.mk inclusions
- Remove checks for Perl versions that no longer exist in the ports tree
- Sort plists, some of which were so jumbled that I have to assume
the plist was randomized before committing
A lot of the plist changes in this commit are moving PERL5_MAN3 after
SITE_PERL. It's repo churn now, but it makes updating the ports later
far easier.

The main features are:
* Robust decoding of weak messages.
* Network support: TCP30003 stream (MSG5...), Raw packets, HTTP.
* Embedded HTTP server that displays the currently detected aircrafts on
Google Map.
* Single bit errors correction using the 24 bit CRC.
* Ability to decode DF11, DF17 messages.
* Ability to decode DF formats like DF0, DF4, DF5, DF16, DF20 and DF21 where the
checksum is xored with the ICAO address by brute forcing the checksum field
using recently seen ICAO addresses.
* Decode raw IQ samples from file (using --ifile command line switch).
* Interactive command-line-interfae mode where aircrafts currently detected are
shown as a list refreshing as more data arrives.
* CPR coordinates decoding and track calculation from velocity.
* TCP server streaming and receiving raw data to/from connected clients.

Changes:
* improve support for decoding the alarm messages by showing the main German
regions which are affected. Note that this was an experimental and now
unused system. With permission from Mr. Wenzelewski from DIN
* Doxygen support, provide a Doxyfile (not supported by the port yet)
* Small fixes to the FidoCADJ schematics
* library:
- assign date/time fields more independently so that errors are corrected
faster
- record the accumulated minute length at the end of each line in the log
file, preceded by an 'a'. These values are read back by get_bit_file()
- redesign the calculations for the accumulated minute length to be more
accurate in case of reception errors or reading log files. Time can now
be adjust forwards and backwards.
- record the minute cutoff value at the end of each line in the log file,
preceded by a 'c'. These values are read back by get_bit_file()
- skip consecutive newlines in the log file
- use a more accurate sleep time when receiving live bits
- set upper bound of hw.freq to 155,000 Hz
- API cleanups (types sanitized, const qualifiers added, some renames)
- algorithm and code cleanups
* dcf77pi:

Sub-port of comms/unixcw
Previously, this was a build-time option, but the primary use of
comms/unixcw is to provide libcw.so (and it's a dependency of
comms/cwdaemon).
Since comms/cwdaemon is not a GUI program, it doesn't make sense to enable
the GUI by default, which would mean pkg users couldn't install this
program. By splitting it into a sub-port, it's now available via pkg
and more obviously present when earching ports.

Remove XCWCP option and prepare this to be a master port instead.
Otherwise there's no way to support xcwcp using pkg without making

If there is enough demand, I can add OPTS for ALSA vs portaudio etc, but for
now just a hard dependency on portaudio will be enough.

the 32 ports that still use it. Bump PORTREVISION on their dependent
ports except the ones that depend on these:
audio/libogg
audio/libvorbis
devel/pcre
ftp/curl
graphics/jpeg
graphics/libart_lgpl
graphics/tiff
textproc/expat2
textproc/libxslt
In these cases the same trick as in the recent gettext update is used.
The ports install a symlink with the old library version. When enough
of their dependent ports have had regular updates the remaining ones can
get a PORTREVISION bump and the links can be removed.
Also remove the devel/pcre dependency from USE_GNOME=glib20. It causes
over 2200 packages to depend on devel/pcre while less than 200 actually
link with it. The glib20 package still depends on devel/pcre so this
should not make a difference for ports with USE_GNOME=glib20. Also,
libdata/pkgconfig/glib-2.0.pc lists pcre as a private library so
USE_GNOME=glib20 should not propagate it.

first contains runtime libraries such as libintl and the latter contains
developer tools such as msgfmt. Ports that use gettext will usually need
a LIB_DEPENDS on gettext-runtime and a BUILD_DEPENDS on gettext-tools.
USES=gettext-runtime can be used to set a LIB/BUILD/RUN_DEPENDS on
devel/gettext-runtime and USES=gettext-tools can be used to set a
BUILD/RUN_DEPENDS on devel/gettext-tools. USES=gettext is now the same
as "USES=gettext-runtime gettext-tools" meaning a LIB_DEPENDS on
devel/gettext-runtime and a BUILD_DEPENDS on devel/gettext-tools.
Update gettext to 0.19.3.
Remove :oldver from converters/libiconv and devel/gettext-runtime. Leave
symlinks with the old library versions to avoid the need to bump
PORTREVISION on a large number of dependent ports. When most of the
dependent ports have had normal version updates, PORTREVISION can be
bumped on the remaining ones (low number) and the links can be removed.
Fix some ports that installed files in lib/locale instead of share/locale.

Modules without any .so will be installed at the same place regardless of the
Perl version, minimizing the upgrade when the major Perl version is changed.
It uses a version dependent directory for modules with compiled bits.
As PERL_ARCH is no longer needed in plists, it has been removed from
PLIST_SUB.
The USE_PERL5=fixpacklist keyword is removed, the .packlist file is now
always removed, as is perllocal.pod.
The old site_perl and site_perl/arch directories have been kept in the
default Perl @INC for all Perl ports, and will be phased out as these old
Perl versions expire.

Proudly presented by the KDE on FreeBSD team, with several guest stars.
This update took way longer than initially expected due to us previously
accumulating assumptions and changes to Qt's build system that finally bit
us back with the 5.3 release series, so we had to do a fair amount of
cleanup.
New ports:
- comms/qt5-serialport: Qt functions to access serial ports, originally
based on work by Fernando Apesteguia. [1]
- devel/qt5-qdoc: Qt documentation generator, the Qt5 equivalent of
devel/qt4-qdoc3. Originally worked on by Tobias Berner.
It had already been half-split from devel/qt5-buildtools,
we just needed to finish the work.
Dead ports:
- devel/qt5-qmldevtools: Merged into lang/qt5-qml.
Minor changes:
- devel/qt5: Add x11/qt5-x11extras and the new ports to the dependency list.
- graphics/qt5-imageformats: The port now supports the JPEG2000, WEBP,
Direct Draw Surface and ICNS formats.
- multimedia/qt5-multimedia: The ALSA and PULSEAUDIO options are now
mutually exclusive due to changes introduced in
Qt 5.3.0 (the ALSA code is now a proper plugin
that is only built if PulseAudio is not used).
- x11/qt5-x11extras: Add USE_LDCONFIG since the port installs a shared
library.
The big changes:
- bsd.qt.mk: Set QMAKESPEC instead of QMAKEPATH. [3]
QMAKEPATH does much more than we want now that we call qmake from the top
of ${WRKSRC}. qmake uses QMAKEPATH when evaluating the QMAKE_MKSPECS
property, which is in turn used by qt_config.pri to load the .pri files in
mkspecs/modules.
In practice, this means that if people have an older Qt installation those
files will be used and QT_CONFIG will have values such as "gui" even if
one is building a port like textproc/qt5-xml, which passes -no-gui to the
configure script. Consequently, unintended code paths may be enabled or
the configuration step can just fail if the .pro files expect values that
are not present in the system-wide, older .pri files.
We avoid all those problems if we use QMAKESPEC, as qmake does not take
its value into account when evaluating the QMAKE_MKSPECS property and will
only parse the files in the mkspec's directory (mkspecs/freebsd-clang, for
example, instead of all the files in mkspecs).
- Stop explicitly passing ${LOCALBASE} to the compiler. [3]
qmake's behavior has changed in Qt 5, and the paths set in QMAKE_INCDIR
and QMAKE_LIBDIR in the mkspecs are passed before any others, such as the
ones in the build directory themselves.
In practice, this means that we end up with linker calls like this:
c++ -o libfoo.so foo.o bar.o -L/usr/local/lib -L/wrkdir/build/lib
-lQt5Gui -lQt5Core
So if one already has Qt installed in the system, the older, already
present version of the libraries in /usr/local/lib will be used instead of
the newly-built ones in /wrkdir/build/lib.
QTBUG-40825 discusses this behavior upstream, but there has been no
agreement on a solution yet.
For now, the solution adopted is to make the compiler and the linker aware
of those paths but only try them last after all others, and this is
achieved by setting the CPATH and LIBRARY_PATH environment variables when
qmake is being used.
In addition to setting them in CONFIGURE_ENV and MAKE_ENV, we also need to
stop changing QMAKE_INCDIR and QMAKE_LIBDIR as well as filter those paths
from the pkg-config calls qtbase's configure script makes.
- Call qmake from the root of the ${WRKSRC}.
In Qt 5.3, Qt's build infrastructure has undergone some changes that make
our previous approach of calling qmake from the directories we want to
build stop working. Things would break even more in Qt 5.4, in which
qtbase's configure script does not accept the -process, -fully-process and
-dont-process arguments anymore (it always behaves as if -process had been
used).
Bite the bullet and start calling qmake from ${WRKSRC}. The largest part of
this change involves changing lines in Makefiles from
WRKSRC_SUBDIR= foo/bar
to
BUILD_WRKSRC= ${WRKSRC}/foo/bar
INSTALL_WRKSRC= ${WRKSRC}/foo/bar
as well as adding patches to .pro files to avoid entering other
subdirectories and removing post-configure targets that are not necessary
anymore.
Since qmake needs to be called from the top of ${WRKSRC} anyway, we can
also simplify the configuration process for the qtbase ports a little.
Looking at r10019 it is not clear why we started calling qmake in the
pre-configure target in addition to the post-configure one (while also
skipping it in do-configure), but we can now drop this call since letting
configure behave as if -process had been passed means it will call qmake
on its own and overwrite the files generated by the pre-configure call. We
still need to call qmake in post-configure though, as the configure script
does not pass -recursive when calling qmake and we need to be able to call
make from any subdirectory when building.

and libintl.so. This fixes a problem where DATADIRNAME gets an incorrect
value which causes locale files to be installed in the wrong place.
- The only configure checks that still need to be patched are related
to intltool so move DATADIRNAME patching from USES=pathfix to
USE_GNOME=intlhack.

- Use USE_LDCONFIG
Overall changes:
- Compile with -fpic instead of -fPIC (potentially smaller code size)
- Add a schematics file for the hardware receiver in FidoCadJ format
- Language and typographical updates to README.md
- Several signed/unsigned/size fixes
Library changes:
- Extract generic third-party code for bits 1..14 from decode_alarm.h into a
new file bits1to14.h
- Convert almost all calculations for decoding the live signal into integer
operations, drop fields 'a', 'frac', and 'maxone' from struct bitinfo.
- New function setclock_ok() in setclock.h
- New functions get_acc_minlen(), add_acc_minlen(), reset_acc_minlen() in
decode_time.h. The accumulated minute length is now a first-class entity.
When decoding the live signal, increment it more precisely than just 1000 ms/s
to prevent drift during bad radio reception.
- New functions dcftime() and isotime() in decode_time.h. Use the latter in
setclock.c
- Check input values of etc/config.txt:
- hw.active_high must be 0 or 1
- hw.freq must be even between 10 and 666666
- Reset the values of bit0 and bit20 if the latter becomes smaller than the
former, show this in the log file using a '!'
- Compact the signal buffer, it now stores 8 pulses per byte instead of just 1.
Client changes:
- Make dcf77pi and dcf77pi-analyze more agnostic of the contents of the
third-party contents
- Update display code of dcf77pi and readpin for the updates to the live signal
decoding
- Show in dcf77pi when the value of bit20 underflows
- Update the code to display the signal buffer in readpin
- Fix readpin to properly clean up when receiving a SIGINT
