* Presenting GNOME 2.12 for FreeBSD. The release is chock full of bug fixesmarcus2005-11-053-118/+369
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | and new features. Don't believe me? Then see for yourself at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.12/notes/en/. DO NOT USE portupgrade by itself to upgrade to GNOME 2.12. Instead, use the gnome_upgrade.sh script from http://www.marcuscom.com/downloads/gnome_upgrade212.sh. This script will circumvent some potential pitfalls users can see if they use portupgrade by itself. In keeping with tradition, GNOME 2.12 for FreeBSD comes with a special splash screen. The winner of this release's contest is Dominique Goncalves <dominique.goncalves@gmail.com>. His splash screen was inspired by http://art.gnome.org/contests/2.12-splash/83. The FreeBSD GNOME Team would lank to thank the following users for their contributions to this release: Matthew Luckie <mjl@luckie.org.nz> ade sajd on #freebsd-gnome Caelian on #freebsd-gnome mnag Yasuda Keisuke <kysd@po.harenet.ne.jp> Mark Hobden <markhobden@gmail.com> Sergey Akifyev <asa@agava.com> Andreas Kohn For more information on GNOME on FreeBSD, checkout http://www.FreeBSD.org/gnome/. The 2.12 documentation will be posted shortly.

* Portmgr was right in that the distfile HAS disappeared, and thereadamw2005-10-131-6/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | are new files available. However, the new files are dissimilar from the current PORTVERSION (0.46.orig) in that a number of code XML files have disappeared, and none of the auto* stuff has been generated for the 0.48-1 tarball. Having this port marked BROKEN prevents nearly 75 GNOME ports from building, and I'm not okay with that. While Koop sorts out the distfile situation and works on updating the port, I've temporarily hosted the old distfile on MASTER_SITE_LOCAL, and I'm removing the BROKEN and DEPRECATED lines that linimon added. I'm sure Koop will update the port soon *poke*

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * MASTER_SITE and WWW have moved; update them. Going to the old URL simply redirects you to the new site. * Distfile was re-rolled with extensive changes. All the autotools stuff was regenerated using a newer autoconf/automake ver. Additionally, the code for the "dubya" filter was modified to include an Irix-oritented fix, its manpage was changed, and the talkfilters info page was updated. * Author apparently did not feel that these changes warranted a new release number *glares at author* I don't like how much was changed in a re-rolled tarball, but there you are.
