* science/elmer(post,-matc): Use modern fortran, unbreak, undeprecatemarino2013-12-262-12/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These ports are due to be deleted in a couple of days because they use gcc34. I was curious if they actually specifically needed gcc34 or if any recent gfortan would do. The answer is these ports build fine with USES+=fortran, which pulls in lang/gcc rather than the deprecated lang/gcc34. The elmerpost port was broken on amd64; this is because it needs the -fPIC flag. I built it successfully in poudriere on FreeBSD 9.2, another platform that supposed elmerpost can't build on. I did not test i386, we'll see what QAT says. The listed maintainer has been unresponsive for months on many ports, so due to the fact these two ports are scheduled for deletion on Dec 27, I am not getting prior approval from maintainer. The deprecation and expiration settings are removed.
* science/chemtool-devel: Unbreak on FreeBSD 10+marino2013-12-261-1/+2

* Update freetype to 2.5.2.kwm2013-12-251-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove patch to add -I/usr/local/include in freetype-config --cflags. If ports need extra headers they should look for them, and not get them via a side-effect. Freetype had a header resuffle in 2.5.1, patch ports to use the new header style. Thanks go to bdrewery for the two exp-runs and rakuco for helping me with some troublesome cmake ports. * Use setuptools for all Python ports.wg2013-12-161-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Setuptools is the preferred method to manage Python distributions after many changes to the packaging ecosystem over the past couple of years. Only ports using USE_PYDISTUTILS= yes are affected by this commit, ports using USE_PYDISTUTILS= easy_install remains the same however this usage is now deprecated and should be converted to USE_PYDISTUTILS= yes. Some Python distributions do not work with setuptools out of the box because they extend the install command from distutils and not setuptools, and so they need to be patched accordingly. pip (which leverages setuptools) works around the issue by using eggs, however we want to get rid of those as well, as support for "flat" installation is unavailable or has other issues associated with it. This work allows us to unify how python packages are built, ensure that Python distributions are installed consistently, reduces complexity for Python port maintainers and paves the way for simplifying the Python ports framework in the future. | | | | | | | All versions of FreeBSD we support are shipped with at least GCC 4.2.1 or Clang. The code seems to build fine with Clang. In fact, on platforms where we no longer ship libstdc++, this port seems to only build using Clang.

| | | | | Though this does not yet fix the build on FreeBSD HEAD, this version does fix some tiny issues that prevent it from being built with clang.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The license was defined as "AS-IS" but this license has no definition in bsd.license*.mk. As a result, this port would not build in bulk because there was no implied acceptance of the "AS-IS" license. Upon re-examination, the maintainer believes it is close enough in spirit to BSD license to be classified as BSD. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Right now this is a noop in the former case and a noop in the latter case unless lang/gcc44 has been installed explicitly. This puts a bit more emphasis on standardizing on a canonical version "current" GCC and makes it easier to update that canonical version by changing the default in Mk/bsd.gcc.mk and updating the lang/gcc port. That is, USE_GCC=yes means "use a decent/modern version of GCC" without having to worry about details. Approved by: portmgr (bdrewery)

* Update the KDE Software Compilation to 4.10.5.rakuco2013-07-052-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Proudly brought to you by the KDE on FreeBSD team. We're sorry to ship two KDE updates in just a few days, but the work on 4.10.5 was very light compared to 4.10.4 so it was ready much faster. The release announcement can be found in [1]. [1] http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.10.5.php The biggest news for us on FreeBSD is that the Ruby bindings should work with Ruby 1.9 now. I will probably add a note to UPDATING later about this, but as avilla@ pointed out, the clang support we mentioned that was improved in 4.10.4 requires a rebuild of the ports that depend on kdelibs4. Most of them are covered by this update, but those which are not part of the Software Compilation need to be rebuilt manually to make sure the previous issues (proper symbol visibility being the most annoying of them) are solved.
* Update to KDE SC 4.10.4, proudly presented by the KDE on FreeBSD team.rakuco2013-07-032-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | With commits from avilla@, makc@, rakuco@ and Schaich Alonso. The upstream announcement can be found in [1]. [1] http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.10.4.php clang support should be more stable now, with clang being recognized by kdelibs4 and being passed the correct flags to build other ports. Additionally, all ports being committed have been verified to build with -CURRENT's clang 3.3 on an amd64 tinderbox (special thanks go to swills@ for providing it). Work on the newly-released 4.10.5 will begin shortly.
