* [NEW PORT] sysutils/bacula-bat GUI for sysutils/bacula-serveredwin2007-09-244-0/+63
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add the GUI interface for Bacula,bat is the GUI inteface for Bacula. Bacula is a set of computer programs that permit you (or the system administrator) to manage backup, recovery, and verification of computer data across a network of computers of different kinds. In technical terms, it is a network Client/Server based backup program. Bacula is relatively easy to use and efficient, while offering many advanced storage management features that make it easy to find and recover lost or damaged files. Due to its modular design, Bacula is scalable from small single computer systems to systems consisting of hundreds of computers located over a large network. * sysutils/screen: install error if world compiled with NO_INFOedwin2007-09-231-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The program /usr/bin/install-info doesn't exist in case the base system has been compiled with NO_INFO. This causes an error during installation of sysutils/screen because one of screen's make files rely on this program. I added handling of NO_INFO (and NO_MAN by the way). I suggest to let screen depend on print/texinfo if the user doesn't define NO_INFO and /usr/bin/install-info doesn't exist. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Cdrdao changes: o Man page cleanup (Andrew Suffield) GCDMaster changes: o Fixed GCC 4.1 compilation issues o Fixed hang when inserting WAV file - Ensure that the libraries built by the port are linked in and not already installed ones. For example in case of libcdda_paranoia installed by audio/cdparanoia can't be used to build cddao. Such problems only happen when using non-standard compiler and/or linker flags are used but it doesn't hurt to add some anti-footshooting measurements to the port. * - The code had a PID/priv issue. See bug # 932 at http://bugs.bacula.org/itetcu2007-08-175-23/+37
| | | | | | | | | | | | In short, it was dropping privs before setting PID. Patch the code locally to get FreeBSD users running. - While here, if PostgreSQL is not installed, ask for 8.2, not the default of 8.1. - Remove EOT model patch, now in vendor code. - Update pkg-message to reflect new version. PR: 115582 Submitted by: Dan Langille (maintainer)
* Add port sysutils/ddrescue:sat2007-08-164-0/+62
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | GNU ddrescue is a data recovery tool. It copies data from one file or block device (hard disc, cdrom, etc) to another, trying hard to rescue data in case of read errors. Ddrescue does not truncate the output file if not asked to. So, every time you run it on the same output file, it tries to fill in the gaps. The basic operation of ddrescue is fully automatic. That is, you don't have to wait for an error, stop the program, read the log, run it in reverse mode, etc. If you use the logfile feature of ddrescue, the data is rescued very efficiently (only the needed blocks are read). Also you can interrupt the rescue at any time and resume it later at the same point. Automatic merging of backups: If you have two or more damaged copies of a file, cdrom, etc, and run ddrescue on all of them, one at a time, with the same output file, you will probably obtain a complete and error-free file. This is so because the probability of having damaged areas at the same places on different input files is very low. Using the logfile, only the needed blocks are read from the second and successive copies. WWW: http://www.gnu.org/software/ddrescue/ddrescue.html Author: Antonio Diaz Diaz <ant_diaz@teleline.es>

* Upgrade to 2.2.0itetcu2007-08-153-22/+24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This release contains significant speed improvments. This Director and Storage daemon must be upgraded at the same time, but they should be compatible with all 2.0.x File daemons, unless you use some of the new features that affect the FD. In other words, you should not have to upgrade all your File daemons when you upgrade. There is no database upgrade needed from version 2.0.x to 2.2.0. The major new features are: - Much faster insertion of attributes (somewhere around 10 times), many thanks to Eric Bollengier and Marc Cousin. - First release of bat (Bacula Administration Tool). Note to build bat you must explicitly enable it on the ./configure line, you must have the Qt4 version 4.2 or later libraries loaded, the qwt (Qt Graphics) package loaded, and qmake and the other Qt4 tools must be available. Most of the implementation was done by Dirk Bartley. - Red/Black restore in memory tree (500 times faster loading). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | WikipediaFS is a mountable Linux virtual file system that allows to read and edit articles from Wikipedia (or any Mediawiki-based site) as if they were real files. It is thus possible to view and edit articles using your favourite text-editor. Text-editors tend to be more convenient than a simple browser form when it comes to editing large texts and they generally include useful features such as Mediawiki syntax highlighting and spell checking.
