* Update CONFIGURE_ARGS for how we pass CONFIGURE_TARGET to configure script.rafan2008-08-211-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Specifically, newer autoconf (> 2.13) has different semantic of the configure target. In short, one should use --build=CONFIGURE_TARGET instead of CONFIGURE_TARGET directly. Otherwise, you will get a warning and the old semantic may be removed in later autoconf releases. To workaround this issue, many ports hack the CONFIGURE_TARGET variable so that it contains the ``--build='' prefix. To solve this issue, under the fact that some ports still have configure script generated by the old autoconf, we use runtime detection in the do-configure target so that the proper argument can be used. Changes to Mk/*: - Add runtime detection magic in bsd.port.mk - Remove CONFIGURE_TARGET hack in various bsd.*.mk - USE_GNOME=gnometarget is now an no-op Changes to individual ports, other than removing the CONFIGURE_TARGET hack: = pkg-plist changed (due to the ugly CONFIGURE_TARGET prefix in * executables) - comms/gnuradio - science/abinit - science/elmer-fem - science/elmer-matc - science/elmer-meshgen2d - science/elmerfront - science/elmerpost = use x86_64 as ARCH - devel/g-wrap = other changes - print/magicfilter GNU_CONFIGURE -> HAS_CONFIGURE since it's not generated by autoconf Total # of ports modified: 1,027 Total # of ports affected: ~7,000 (set GNU_CONFIGURE to yes) PR: 126524 (obsoletes 52917) Submitted by: rafan Tested on: two pointyhat 7-amd64 exp runs (by pav) Approved by: portmgr (pav)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Tibetan & Himalayan Digital Library releases the Unicode character based Tibetan Machine Uni OpenType font for writing Tibetan, Dzongkha and Ladakhi in dbu-can script with full support for the Sanskrit combinations found in chos skad texts. This font is based on the Tibetan Machine font originally designed and developed by Tony Duff of the Tibetan Computer Company over many years, the rights of which were purchased from him by the Trace Foundation in order to make it freely available under the terms of the Gnu General Public License. OpenType tables and more than 2,000 additional glyphs were added to the original font by Nathaniel Garson and Christopher Fynn under the auspices of THDL. This new OpenType version of the font contains almost 4,000 glyphs and can generate over 20,000 different combinations. WWW: http://www.thdl.org/tools/fonts/ Author: Tony Duff

* Presenting GNOME 2.20.1 and all related works for FreeBSD. The officialmarcus2007-10-252-10/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | GNOME 2.20 release notes can be found at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.20/notes/en/ . Beyond that, this update includes the new GIMP 2.4 (courtesy of ahze). The GNOME 2.20 update also includes a huge change in the FreeBSD GNOME hierarchy. We are now using the more standard DATADIR of ${PREFIX}/share rather than ${PREFIX}/share/gnome. The result is that fewer patches and hacks are needed to port GNOME components to FreeBSD. This will mean some user changes may be required, so be sure to read /usr/ports/UPDATING for more details. This release and the things we accomplished in it would not have been possible without mezz's crazy idea to collapse DATADIR, and his persistence to make it happen successfully. Ahze and pav also deserve thanks for their work on porting modules and testing the whole ball of wax on pointyhat (respectively). The FreeBSD GNOME team would also like to thank our various testers and contributors: Yasuda Keisuke Frank Jahnke Pawel Worach Brian Gruber Franz Klammer Yuri Pankov Nick Barkas Cristian KLEIN Tony Maher Scot Hetzel Martin Matuska (mm) Benoit Dejean Martin Wilke (miwi) (And anyone else I may have missed) PRs fixed in this release: 111272, 113470, 115995, 116338

On top of the usual GNOME update, we have taken this opportunity to move GNOME from X11BASE to LOCALBASE. This means roughly 600 ports NOT part of the GNOME Desktop also need to be changed. The bulk of the move was carried out by ahze, mezz, and pav, but it would not have been possible without cooperation from the FreeBSD KDE team who worked with us to make sure GNOME and KDE can still coexist happily. We would also like to send a shout out to kris and pointyhat for putting up with multiple test runs until we got something that was solid. Back to GNOME 2.16. This release brings a huge amount of new functionality to FreeBSD. The standard release notes can be read at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.16/ . But on top of what you will read there, jylefort and marcus have completed work on a port of HAL to FreeBSD. This will allow FreeBSD to take advantage of closer hardware interaction such as auto-mounting CD-ROMs, USB drives, and music players; auto-playing audio CDs; and managing laptop power consumption. But where would this all be without our loyal testers and contributors? Therefore, the FreeBSD GNOME team would like to thank the following users: Phillip Neumann <pneumann@gmail.com> tmclaugh mux Yuri Pankov <yuri.pankov@gmail.com> chinsan Thomas <freebsdlists@bsdunix.ch> Brian Gruber <knightbg@yahoo.com> Franz Klammer <klammer@webonaut.com> Dominique Goncalves <dominique.goncalves@gmail.com> Pascal Hofstee <caelian@gmail.com> Yasuda Keisuke <kysd@po.harenet.ne.jp> backyard <backyard1454-bsd@yahoo.com> Andris Raugulis <endrju@null.lv> <endrju@null.lv> Eric L. Besides this, I don't think he will be upset when other people do the work instead of adding an entry to his TODO list. :-) This commit brings us just before the switch of the default linux base port to the fc3 one, modulo some bugs which may appear. So: Beta testers wanted! And feel free to send a big "Thank you!" to Boris, he did a lot of the work! * Remove the FreeBSD KEYWORD from all rc.d scripts where it appears.dougb2006-02-211-2/+1
| | | | | | | We have not checked for this KEYWORD for a long time now, so this is a complete noop, and thus no PORTREVISION bump. Removing it at this point is mostly for pedantic reasons, and partly to avoid perpetuating this anachronism by copy and paste to future scripts.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | PR. Thanks for contributing. Since the acroread7 port is a somewhat important port for our users, I will hand it over to emulation@ if no _active_ *committer* takes it before the ports freeze. While I'm here: - fix a little nit in the csound port (I think the intention was to create no backup file instead of creating one with a "-e" extension) - set ARCH to i386 in the amd64 case for the acroread7 port. This is a work-around to be able to install everything when a dependency is not already installed (ARCH is read-only in sub-makes, so the dependencies can't change it). This should be removed when the dependencies are fixed or converted to use bsd.linux-rpm.mk. * FarsiWeb.ir has released the first standard set of Unicode Persian fonts everpav2006-02-085-0/+57
| | | | | | | | | | | | published, including Elham, Terafik, Terafik Bold, Titr, Roya, Roya Bold, Koodak, Nazli, Nazli Bold, and Homa. The main advantage over legacy fonts is compliance with the Unicode, ISIRI 6219, and OpenType standards, and the addition of required but missing glyphs for Persian information processing. The fonts are highly recommended if you care for proper Persian display on your computers. PR: ports/92905 Submitted by: Babak Farrokhi <babak@farrokhi.net>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On installation try running fc-cache for directory where fonts from this port are installed and don't complain if fc-cache (from fontconfig) is missing. Do a bit more dancing on uninstall, just in case users have their own fonts installed in same directory: - first remove fonts.cache-1 if it is there since it won't be accurate after fonts from this port are gone anyway, - next try to regenerate cache with fc-cache for this directory - if previous step generates empty cache file, remove it If directory contained only fonts from this port, it should get properly removed at the end. If there were other fonts there and fontconfig is installed, this will leave proper cache file for remaining fonts behind after uninstall of this port.
