changes that Debian made to their libtool. The first command applies to
libtool versions 1.4 and up. The second command is somewhat more elaborate
but essentially it uses the sed hold space to move an "elif...fi" block
down. It applies to 2.x. Together these reduce overlinking to unpatched
.la files (from ports that don't have USES=libtool yet but also .la files
in the work directory).
The third and fourth command fix relinking. During staging libtool may
relink libA when it links to another library in the work directory libB.
The reason is that libA created during build phase has its runpath set to
the location of libB in the work directory. This allows running an
executable that links to libA from within the work directory. The relink
removes this extra runpath.
When libtool relinks libA it replaces "libB.la" on the linker command line
with "-L${STAGEDIR}${PREFIX}/lib -lB" with the intention to link to libB in
the stage directory but this -L flag isn't necessarily the first so another
libB may be linked instead. The two sed commands make relink the same as a
normal link. This means libtool will relink with libraries from the work
directory using a path similar to "../srcB/.libs/libB.so" without -L flags.
This applies to libtool 1.4 and up. Earlier versions don't seem to relink
libraries.
(This fixes ports like devel/apr1 so they link with freshly built libraries
instead of installed libraries.)
Fix all ports with missing libraries.
Additionally:
archivers/rpm4: USES=patchfix.
databases/gdbm: INSTALL_TARGET=install-strip.
devel/gnome-vfs: remove patch that doesn't change anything.
devel/ois: INSTALL_TARGET=install-strip and use standard USE_AUTOTOOLS.
devel/zziplib: INSTALL_TARGET=install-strip, MAKE_CMD.
multimedia/mjpegtools: remove USE_AUTOTOOLS, use modern compiler on i386
instead of disabling optimisations.
net/libnetdude: disable static plugins.

I have not been maintaining this port, mainly because this version is not

Sylvio's last commit was 17 months ago, a full 5 months after all of his
ports could have been reset per policy. Given the push to complete
staging (48 ports are still unstaged, something like 70+ have already
been staged by other committers) and given that PRs are automatically
assigned but never addressed, it's better just to reset all the ports and
PRs so that it's clear to others that these ports are free to maintain.

- Add LIBS="${LIBS}" to MAKE_ENV and CONFIGURE_ENV.
- Add an option helper for LIBS.
- Adjust all ports that already use LIBS. Also remove references to
PTHREAD_CFLAGS and PTHREAD_LIBS while here.
- Some ports did not support having a LIBS environment variable and
required additional patches.
Somewhat simplified a linker command line looks like:
${CC} ${src_LDFLAGS} ${LDFLAGS} ${src_LIBS} ${LIBS}
where src_LDFLAGS and src_LIBS are controlled by upstream and LDFLAGS and
LIBS can be controlled by us. If possible -L and -l flags need to be
added to LIBS to make sure they appear after any -L and -l flags set by
upstream. Many ports currently add -L${LOCALBASE}/lib to LDFLAGS but this
may appear too early on the command line causing installed libraries to
be linked in instead of freshly built ones.
Additional changes:
benchmarks/netio: Replace WITH_IPV6 with an IPV6 option.
comms/gnokii: Replace some patches with USES=pathfix. Also remove -fPIC.
graphics/gimageview: USES=libtool and install desktop file in DESKTOPDIR.
graphics/visionworkbench: Remove FreeBSD 7 support.
multimedia/libmovtar: New LIB_DEPENDS syntax.
multimedia/opencinematools: Use standard do-build.
net/siproxd: USES=libtool:keepla (port actually needs .la files for plugins)
net-mgmt/nagios: Remove -fPIC.
net-mgmt/nagios4: Remove -fPIC.
print/cups-base: Only add -lssp_nonshared on i386 and OSVERSION < 1000036.
security/p11-kit: Replace PTHREAD_LIBS in CONFIGURE_ENV with
ac_cv_func_pthread_mutexattr_init=no in CONFIGURE_ARGS. This skips a test
in configure that falsely detects pthread_mutexattr_init in our libc.
sysutils/dar: Fix iconv detection.
x11/rxvt-unicode: Remove -lstdc++ and patch configure to remove a FreeBSD
hack and use $CXX as linker as on other platforms.

While working on the GPS port, GtkAda received a minor bug fix. Just
bring this new version in before GPS 6.0.x.
The makefile was slightly modified to keep using the 3.8.3.0 version
of the reference manual. Also the ability to build a debug version
was added as a non-default option.

This port directly conflicts with gtkada3 as many files are installed
in the same place. Define the conflict. While here:
* Convert from generated plist to pkg-plist
* Add DOCS and EXAMPLES options, use PORTDOCS and PORTEXAMPLES
* Remove post-patch target, not needed
* Convert to USES+= tar:bzip2
* Install license - GPLv2 was already defined but not installed

The GTK/Ada library is a key component of the GNAT Programming Studio.
The GPS 5.x series used GTK2 components through GKT/Ada. For the new
6.x series of GPS, GTK3 components are needed and GTK/Ada has been
updated accordingly.
Since GTK/Ada is actually a generic component, it has been decided to
freeze x11-toolkits/gtkada at version 2.24 as this is the last version
that supports GTK2. To support the upcoming GPS 6.0, this gtkada3 port
based on GTK3 is required.
This port naturally conflicts with x11-toolkits/gtkada. Once GPS is
upgraded, the gtkada port may be reworked so it can co-exist with the
gtkada port.

Since FreeBSD 8.4 and FreeBSD 9.1 make(1) do support :tu and :tl as a
replacement for :U and :L (which has been marked as deprecated)
bmake which is the default on FreeBSD 10+ only support by default
:tu/:tl a hack has been added at the time to support :U and :L to ease
migration. This hack is now not necessary anymore
Note that this makes the ports tree incompatible with make(1) from
FreeBSD 8.3 or earlier

For me, the most cringeworthy makefile technique is the shell command
(!=) evaluating another port with "make -C". This is very slow, fragile,
and can cause a huge mess if something is out of wack.
The technique was used in this port and it didn't even work on all
platforms. For sure FreeBSD 8 (according to portsmon) and DragonFly
were broken. Essentially the file "gtk2_3_0_0_uni_gcc_3.4.pm" was
installed, but the broken plist substitution was looking for
"gtk2__uni_gcc_3.4.pm".
To fix this robustly, get rid of the whole "make -C" mess and the plist
substituion and just use the find command to dynamically add this one
file to the plist. Since it starts with a unique pattern, we really
don't need to know the Wx version in order to establish the plist with
this technique.

Changes:
* Kivy now supports python 2 and 3
ChangeLog:
- Python 3.3 support: It's finally here, using the same codebase! And
we deliver also 3 portables for Windows, one that package Python 2.7
and another with Python 3.3!
- New media player named GstPlayer, based on Gstreamer 1.0. This
player is currently used as a implementation for Audio and Video
core provider. This allow us to not only use the latest Gstreamer
and all the improvements done by them, but also have a common player
for both Python 2.7 and 3.3 on desktop platforms.
- Scrollview has been slightly enhanced to support smoother scrolling
utilizing Matrix transformation by default. It also now supports
scrolling through bars or content or both.
- Widgets now can be disabled simply by using `disabled` property.
- Textinput now has support for selection handles.
- New Widgets!
- ActionBar: Mimics Android?s own ActionBar appearance and
mechanisms
- Behaviors: ButtonBehavior, ToggleButtonBehavior, DragBehavior,
just subclass a behavior to an existing widgets, and you get the
behavior! (eg. class ImageButton(ButtonBehavior, Image))
- PageLayout: A simple multi-page layout allowing flipping through
pages using borders
- SandBox (experimental): Runs itself and its children in an
exception-catching sandbox

exists, libtool will add all libraries libB.la refers to (dependency_libs
field) to the linker command line and store them in the dependency_libs
field of libA.la. So everything that subsequently links with libA will also
link to these extra libraries. This causes too much overlinking.
This commit modifies Mk/Uses/libtool.mk so it empties the dependency_libs
field in .la libraries during staging. However, because .la libraries have
very limited use when dependency_libs is empty it makes sense to completely
remove them during staging.
So with this commit USES=libtool is modified to remove .la libraries and a
new form (USES=libtool:keepla) is introduced in case they need to be kept
(dependency_libs is still emptied).
PORTREVISION is bumped on all ports with USES=libtool that install .la
libraries. Most ports are also changed to add :keepla because .la
libraries have to be kept around as long as there are dependent ports with
.la libraries that refer to them in their dependency_libs field. In most
cases :keepla can be removed again as soon as all dependent ports that
install .la libraries have some form of USES=libtool added to their
Makefile.

a zeising, kwm production, with help from dumbbell, bdrewery:
NEW XORG ON FREEBSD 9-STABLE AND 10-STABLE
This update switches over to use the new xorg stack by default on FreeBSD 9
and 10 stable, on osversions where vt(9) is available.
It is still possible to use the old stack by specifying WITHOUT_NEW_XORG in
/etc/make.conf .
FreeBSD 8-STABLE and released versions of FreeBSD still use
the old version.
A package repository with binary packages for new xorg will
be available soon.
This patch also contains updates of libxcb and related ports, pixman, as well
as some drivers and utilities.
Bump portrevisions for xf86-* ports, as well as virtualbox-ose-additions due
to xserver version change.
Apart from these updates, the way shared libraries are handled has been
changed for all xorg ports, as well as libxml2 and freetype, which means
ltverhack is gone and as a consequence shared libraries have been bumped.
The plan is that this change will make library bumps less likely in the
future.
All affected ports have had their portrevisions bumped as a consequence of
this.
Fix some issues where WITH_NEW_XORG weren't detected properly on CURRENT.
Update instructions, hardware support, and more notes can be found on
https://wiki.freebsd.org/Graphics

Rather than specify gnat_util every time ASIS is a dependency, set it
as a library dependency for ASIS. LIB_DEPENDS doesn't work because it
is a static library, so just manually add libgnat_util.a to BUILD_DEPENDS

Changes:
* FXIconSource now can use icon/image contents to detect file format type
[the stream must be seekable].
* A default FXIconSource implementation in FOX will be used to load icons
if not overloaded by a user-extended one explicitly.
* Replaced FXIconDict with FXIconCache.
* Replaced FXFileDict with FXFileAssociations. The new implementation uses
FXDictionary, and the new FXIconCache.
* Fixed problem in FXDictionary: object pointed to by data is itself not
const. This affects const-accessors.
* Fixed bug in Adie: dumping core when started with unknown commandline
parameter.
* Expunged FXDict and its subclasses. Now replaced with new
implementations, see above.
* FXFileList now has explicit pointer to FXIconSource, for image preview
purposes.
* Changed things around for FXFileAssociations to be more easily
subclassable.
* In FXIconCache, don't add to the hash table until loading was
successful.
* PathFinder icon previewing improved, more options for sizing.
* PathFinder custom iconpath wasn't being saved.
* In FXFileAssociations, don't add extension-association unless associated
extension data from registry is fully and properly parsed.
* Fixed compile problem in FXPipe.

OPTIONS_DEFINE. This policy has been implemented only recently that's why we
have many ports violating this policy.
This patch adds the default options specified in the Porter's Handbook to
OPTIONS_DEFINE where they are being used. Ports maintained by
gnome@FreeBSD.org, kde@FreeBSD.org and x11@FreeBSD.org have been excluded.
