* Presenting GNOME 2.20.1 and all related works for FreeBSD. The officialmarcus2007-10-253-54/+56
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | GNOME 2.20 release notes can be found at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.20/notes/en/ . Beyond that, this update includes the new GIMP 2.4 (courtesy of ahze). The GNOME 2.20 update also includes a huge change in the FreeBSD GNOME hierarchy. We are now using the more standard DATADIR of ${PREFIX}/share rather than ${PREFIX}/share/gnome. The result is that fewer patches and hacks are needed to port GNOME components to FreeBSD. This will mean some user changes may be required, so be sure to read /usr/ports/UPDATING for more details. This release and the things we accomplished in it would not have been possible without mezz's crazy idea to collapse DATADIR, and his persistence to make it happen successfully. Ahze and pav also deserve thanks for their work on porting modules and testing the whole ball of wax on pointyhat (respectively). The FreeBSD GNOME team would also like to thank our various testers and contributors: Yasuda Keisuke Frank Jahnke Pawel Worach Brian Gruber Franz Klammer Yuri Pankov Nick Barkas Cristian KLEIN Tony Maher Scot Hetzel Martin Matuska (mm) Benoit Dejean Martin Wilke (miwi) (And anyone else I may have missed) PRs fixed in this release: 111272, 113470, 115995, 116338

| | | | | | | | | | | | QT_COMPONENTS can now be depended on at runtime or buildtime only by specifiying them as <component>_build or <component>_run, respectively. Specifying <component> without any suffix will depend on the component at both build- and runtime just like before. - Convert Qt core ports to use the new dependency switches. - Add a patch to corelib to fix Qt4 on ARM, submitted by: Björn König <bkoenig@alpha-tierchen.de>

* Cleanup ghostscript-gnu-commfont and related CJK font support meta ports.hrs2007-04-282-5/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Changes include: - Set WITH_GHOSTSCRIPT_GNU forcibly. - Use PostScript virtual fonts to handle CJK CID/TT-CID emulated fonts. CIDFnmap still works but when a font is both in Resource/Font or Resource/CIDFont and in CIDFnmap, the former entry will be used. For the actual font mapping, see files in Resource/CIDFont/*. So, note that you need to remove (or rename) the virtual font if you use CIDFnmap for the moment. This is still a transitional measure and more consistent font management thoughout the ports collection should be added later. This is just an internal structural change; default font mapping has not been changed. - Add Chinese font support to print/gsfonts (but no dependency added).
* Rename all binaries in qt4 which conflict with binaries installed bylofi2007-04-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | qt33 to ($binary)-qt4 and adjust dependencies accordingly. This avoids conflicts once X11BASE has been changed to /usr/local and incidentally makes the naming scheme of the qt4 executables in ports equal to that of the Fedora Core and Debian packages.

| | | | | | | | o http://docs.freebsd.org/cgi/getmsg.cgi?fetch=25587+0+archive/2005/freebsd-openoffice/20050529.freebsd-openoffice o still you can build them via knobs for 1.1 see ports/editors/openoffice-1.1/files/Makefile.localized o 1.0 has been broken for long time, no longer maintained actively. (but still I don't delete 1.0 and delete only localized versions)

* Mega-patch to cleanup the ports infrastructure regarding our linux bits:netchild2005-06-181-5/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - USE_LINUX now implies NO_FILTER_SHLIBS=yes. It also doesn't use FreeBSD tools to strip binaries anymore, so it's not neccesary anymore to override STRIP and STRIP_CMD. - USE_LINUX_PREFIX implies NO_MTREE now. - In the USE_LINUX case, USE_XLIB now depends upon the linux X11 libraries instead upon the native FreeBSD libraries. - The variable LINUX_BASE_PORT contains a string which is suitable as an item in *_DEPENDS, so if a port BATCH_DEPENDS or FETCH_DEPENDS upon the default (or overriden) linux base, ${LINUX_BASE_PORT} should be used instead of a hardcoded reference. - Change all ports to comply to the "new world order". - The Ports Collection now allows to override the default linux_base port. Specify e.g. OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=rh-9 in /etc/make.conf to use ${PORTSDIR}/emulators/linux_base-rh-9 (the logic is to use ${PORTSDIR}/emulators/linux_base-${OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT}). - If USE_LINUX or OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE doesn't point to an existing linux_base port and if USE_LINUX isn't set to "yes" (case insensitive), the port will be marked as IGNORE. [1] - Readd USE_LINUX knobs into several ports and make several uses of a conditional dependency ("USE_LINUX?=") into an unconditional one ("USE_LINUX=") which where removed/changed by Trevor to allow the use of alternative linux_base ports. While this is a nice goal, the implementation resulted in missing dependencies. The OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT knob in this commit is supposed to fix the problem while keeping the feature. Basicaly this includes a backout of Trevor's commit, to prevent confusion I mention it here explicitely. - Use the correct prefix (X11- instead of LOCAL- or LINUX-) for some ports. Chase dependencies for this. - Changes to make linux_devtools installable on amd64, remove some stray device nodes (they don't work on recent OS versions and aren't really needed). - Make linux_base-8 PREFIX clean and remove some stray device nodes. Additionally tell a little bit more about how to setup NIS/YP [2]. - Update the PGSQL dependency in the linux-opengroupware port to a recent version (the old one isn't available anymore), I don't know if this works (at least it isn't more broken than before). - Use PREFIX/usr/share/doc instead of PREFIX/usr/doc in the divx4linux ports, the former path exists already and gets populated by other packages too (PREFIX=LINUXPREFIX!). - Fix some obvious (non-linuxolator) bugs in some linux ports while being there. - Bump PORTREVISION where neccesary.
