A number of functions are provided for quoting a region, a buffer, a

portless gcc\*

Rename this ports to use the real vendor package name. The advantage of this
is to allow our users' keyword search works and easier for users to file the
Bugzilla report when they use our name of ports. Debian, Gentoo, NetBSD and
other OSs have the correct package name, but not in our ports tree.
My team, FreeBSD GNOME Team, have agreed with it.
As for other ports, chase the rename.

http://www.gnome.org/start/2.14/ for the official release notes, and a list
of all the gooides in this new release. In particular, GNOME 2.14 focused
on performance, and they did not miss the mark. There's some new eye candy,
but most of the big things are waiting until GNOME 2.16. On the FreeBSD
side, we tried to clean up all the crashers we could. In particular, we
really improved GNOME's 64-bit support.
The good news is that this release does not bring any big shared library
version bumps, so you can almost do a simple portupgrade to get to 2.14.
There are a few minor gotchas that will be documented in UPDATING shortly.
The FreeBSD GNOME Team would like th thank the following users for their
patches, feedback, and sometimes incessant complaing about crashes (you
know who you are).

except malloc no longer uses sbrk() to allocate memory so this ends up

being unfechable as a dependency of another port. Introduce instead
COMPAT4X_ARCH which is the same as ARCH except on amd64 where it is "i386"
and replace relevant occurances of ARCH with it.
This also unbreaks ".if ${ARCH} == amd64" comparison that comes after ARCH
was modified to "i386" before.
While here, avoid installing ldconfig/compat4x for amd64 which only needs
ldconfig32/compat4x.

Change some URLs from author dirs to dist dirs.
The example in the porter's handbook didn't have the trailing slash;
mea culpa for not having caught that when it went in.

We have not checked for this KEYWORD for a long time now, so this
is a complete noop, and thus no PORTREVISION bump. Removing it at
this point is mostly for pedantic reasons, and partly to avoid
perpetuating this anachronism by copy and paste to future scripts.

Instead of trying to patch it, just supply a BSD-specific Makefile
using <bsd.prog.mk>. This removes the build-time dependency of this
tiny port on USE_REINPLACE and the heavy-weight gmake at once.
