After a discussion on the mailing list on moving manpages to
${PREFIX}/share/man for consistency with base where it is
installed in usr/share/man, it appeared the same should happen
to GNU info files which were installed under share in base and
not in ports.
Now texinfo is not in base on any of the supported version of FreeBSD
it is possible to proceed to this move and it is easier to do than
the manpage change.
Other benefit than consistency are less patching: all build tools but
cmake are expecting info files to be under share/info and cmake (patched here)
was having an exception for BSD so the patch makes FreeBSD case less
specific for them

This includes ports
- featuring USE_GCC=yes or USE_GCC=any,

- with USES=compiler specifying one of openmp, nestedfct, c11, c++0x,
c++11-lib, c++11-lang, c++14-lang, c++17-lang, or gcc-c++11-lib.

This module attempts to implement reasonably robust benchmarking with little
extra effort and expertise required from the user. That is to say, benchmarking
using this module is likely an improvement over
time some-command --to --benchmark
or
use Benchmark qw/timethis/;
timethis(1000, 'system("some-command", ...)');
The module currently works similar to the former command line, except (in layman
terms) it will run the command many times, estimate the uncertainty of the
result and keep iterating until a certain user-defined precision has been
reached. Then, it calculates the resulting uncertainty and goes through some
pain to discard bad runs and subtract overhead from the timings. The reported
timing includes an uncertainty, so that multiple benchmarks can more easily be
compared.
Please note that Dumbbench works entirely with wallclock time as reported by
Time::HiRes' time() function.

While there, cleanup, and sort depends.
When build and run dependencies are the same, there are three ways to
avoid duplicating the list while not adding the framework added
BUILD_DEPENDS to the RUN_DEPENDS. In order of preference, they are:
1) use RUN_DEPENDS to set BUILD_DEPENDS:
BUILD_DEPENDS= ${RUN_DEPENDS}
RUN_DEPENDS= foo:bar/baz
2) create another variable and use it:
MY_DEPENDS= foo:bar/baz
BUILD_DEPENDS= ${MY_DEPENDS}
RUN_DEPENDS= ${MY_DEPENDS}
3) use BUILD_DEPENDS to set RUN_DEPENDS and force evaluation:
BUILD_DEPENDS= foo:bar/baz
RUN_DEPENDS:= ${BUILD_DEPENDS}

This a security release for libwww to take into account security advisories
CVE-2016-9063 and CVE-2017-9233.
In order to take into account current and future expat security advisories,
the expat source code was removed from the libwww tree. The makefiles were
modified so that libwww dynamically links against the system's expat library.
Patches removed were incorporated upstream.
Bump PORTREVISION of dependent ports due shlib change.

it replaces sh(1) process (makes it look nicer in the ps(1) output)
- Fix an apparent typo in the port description text

As usual, it is recommended to rebuild or reinstall all the
dependent ports and the lang/ghc port itself in one of the following
ways:
# portmaster -w -r ghc
or
# portupgrade -fr lang/ghc
In case of pkg(8), it is probably safer to remove all the GHC-dependent
packages along with GHC and reinstall everything from scratch. For
example:
# pkg query "%ro" ghc > ghc-pkgs.txt
# pkg delete -y lang/ghc
In ghc-pkgs.txt, check and remove all the packages that have been moved
on the update, then use this command:
# pkg install -y `cat ghc-pkgs.txt`

This will primarily help powerpc64.
For archs where clang is the default compiler, these changes will have no
effect, as the base compiler already has these capabilities (primarily, but
not exclusively, c++-11).
Tested for no-harm on amd64.

Unified Performance Tool (or uperf for short) is a network
performance tool that supports modelling and replay of various
networking patterns. It represents a new kind of benchmarking tool
(like filebench) where instead of running a fixed benchmark or
workload, a description (or model) of the workload is provided and
the tool generates the load according to the model.

switch to snapshots directly obtained from the github repository (currently
at version 2.7.1). Generally, there aren't that many changes since the 2.7.0
release version of netperf, the most noteworthy changes are in the area of
FreeBSD support, though:
- FreeBSD-specific code for letting netperf/netserver bind to CPUs, e. g.
via the global "-T" option, has been added.
- The nettest_bsd back-end now can take advantage of aio(4) via the newly
added test-specific "-a" and "-A" options, which in turn allows zero-copy
send and receive with e. g. cxgbe(4). Note that this requires the netperf
port to be built with its default-on OMNI option disabled, as otherwise
the nettest_omni back-end and the migration to it from legacy back-ends
(also the upstream default since netperf 2.5.0) will be used instead.
Apart from that, some test scripts missing in the published releases but
referenced by test scripts already part of e. g. netperf 2.7.0 are now
included.

When feasible do this by adding -D_WANT_SEMUN to CFLAGS or CXXFLAGS.
Where this fails due to ports not honoring C*FLAGS, patch using
__FreeBSD_version to enable the definition.

Ports using USE_PYTHON=distutils are now flavored. They will
automatically get flavors (py27, py34, py35, py36) depending on what
versions they support.
There is also a USE_PYTHON=flavors for ports that do not use distutils
but need FLAVORS to be set. A USE_PYTHON=noflavors can be set if
using distutils but flavors are not wanted.
A new USE_PYTHON=optsuffix that will add PYTHON_PKGNAMESUFFIX has been
added to cope with Python ports that did not have the Python
PKGNAMEPREFIX but are flavored.
USES=python now also exports a PY_FLAVOR variable that contains the
current python flavor. It can be used in dependency lines when the
port itself is not python flavored. For example, deskutils/calibre.
By default, all the flavors are generated. To only generate flavors
for the versions in PYTHON2_DEFAULT and PYTHON3_DEFAULT, define
BUILD_DEFAULT_PYTHON_FLAVORS in your make.conf.
In all the ports with Python dependencies, the *_DEPENDS entries MUST
end with the flavor so that the framework knows which to build/use.
This is done by appending '@${PY_FLAVOR}' after the origin (or
@${FLAVOR} if in a Python module with Python flavors, as the content
will be the same). For example:
RUN_DEPENDS= ${PYTHON_PKGNAMEPREFIX}six>0:devel/py-six@${PY_FLAVOR}

A trivial port of Brendan Gregg's collection of flamegraph scripts (a lot of shebang-fixes). This will allow developers to visually profile output from, e.g., ljp and dtrace to locate CPU and memory hogs in workloads.

bombardier is a HTTP(S) benchmarking tool. It is written in
Go programming language and uses excellent fasthttp instead

goBench is a HTTP(S) benchmarking tool designed for high throughput
to replace existing benchmarking/load tools which have concurrency
issues. We are working so hard to optimize our servers - why shouldn't
we do also it for our clients testers?!
