as defined in Mk/bsd.default-versions.mk which has moved from GCC 8.3
to GCC 9.1 under most circumstances now after revision 507371.
This includes ports
- with USE_GCC=yes or USE_GCC=any,
- with USES=fortran,
- using Mk/bsd.octave.mk which in turn features USES=fortran, and
- with USES=compiler specifying openmp, nestedfct, c11, c++0x, c++11-lang,
c++11-lib, c++14-lang, c++17-lang, or gcc-c++11-lib
plus, everything INDEX-11 shows with a dependency on lang/gcc9 now.

Gnome, KDE, XFCE, and LXDE, which are windowing enviornments, FVWM
is a simple window manager which simply controls the the placement
of windows and provides decoration for windows. Wereas a windowing
environment (like Gnome or KDE) is an ecosystem of themes, settings
(like keyboard, mouse, network, and others), and a suite of
applications within that ecosystem. FVWM is not this. There remove
references sample applications, many which do not exist any more.
Some people erroneously expect the samples to be installed when
FVWM is installed.
The samples still exist in the system.fvwm2rc file as comments.
Users can install applications of their choosing and uncomment
the desired samples, though it is recommended that people create
their own ~/.fvwm2rc file instead.

Add USES=compiler:c11 to fix build.
Note that this port actually needs C17, but there's no USES=compiler:c17, and our C11-compatible compilers already support C17:

The elements of the list are prefixes of display drivers located in
/usr/local/lib/xorg/modules/drivers, so these refer to Xorg display
drivers, not kernel modules.
The "intel" driver covers i915 if and only if intel_drv.so is loaded. If
modesetting_drv.so is loaded then "intel" does not cover i915 anymore.
As xf86-video-amdgpu installs amdgpu_drv.so, "amdgpu" should also be added
to the list. "ati" and "radeon" cover display drivers installed by both
xf86-video-ati and xf86-video-ati-legacy.

- Add modesetting to the drivers whitelist
- Use upstream name xfwm4 instead of xfwm to properly fall back
- Remove reference to former option GNOME
- Simplify option DBUS
- Add missing dependencies
- Add LICENSE
- Add USES=gnome, USES=gl and USE_GL=gl
- Reorder the variables to pet portlint
- Regenerate patch files to pet portlint
Metacity migrated to GTK+ 3 while Compiz still uses GTK+ 2. This
incompatibility was left unseen at make time because of a reference to
former option GNOME in an assertion which resulted in METACITY being always
disabled.
Committer's changes:
- Remove broken option METACITY
- Further lint the makefile

Openbox includes a Python script (openbox-xdg-autostart)
which implements the XDG autostart spec
(https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/autostart-spec/).
The switch of the default Python to 3.6 in ports r498529 broke the script.
The added patch makes the script work again with both Python 2 and 3.
Luckily the only problem was "print" being changed from a keyword
to a regular function.

Ports for Haskell *libraries* are going to be removed from the ports tree.
Haskell *applications* are going to be statically linked with all dependencies
( https://reviews.freebsd.org/D19730 ), so there is no reason to keep
Haskell libraries in tree.
If you think a port is wrongly marked and should stay, please contact haskell@

Ion is a modern system shell that features a simple, yet powerful,
syntax. It is written entirely in Rust, which greatly increases
the overall quality and security of the shell, eliminating the
possibilities of a ShellShock-like vulnerability, and making
development easier. It also offers a level of performance that
exceeds that of Dash, when taking advantage of Ion's features.
While it is developed alongside, and primarily for, RedoxOS, it is
a fully capable on other *nix platforms.

- Clean up MASTER_SITES (remove outdated websites)
- Set FREETYPEINC (now required to build) and VERSION in MARK_ARGS
- Use DISTVERSION instead of PORTVERSION for consistency
- Define a simple do-test target so that we can quickly test if the binary
is at least not core dumping when started
- Improve the description of the VOLUMECONTROL option
- Replace config.mk patching with a post-configure target that makes the
port respect user's CFLAGS, CPPFLAGS and LDFLAGS
- Rewrite the post-extract target using make(1) if syntax instead of sh(1)
if syntax

A light, single-file, minimalist window manager for X11.
This window manager is single-file and a super small binary with low
resource consumption. Personally, I find it's useful for focused work
where you aren't moving around too much and don't need multiple
workspaces (it doesn't support them, obviously).

a symbol matches multiple clauses the last one takes precedence. If the
catch-all is last it captures everything. In the case of Qt5 libraries
this caused all symbols to have a Qt_5 label while some should have
Qt_5_PRIVATE_API. This only affects lld because GNU ld always gives the
catch-all lowest priority.
Older versions of Qt5Webengine exported some memory allocation symbols from
the bundled Chromium. Version 5.9 stopped exporting these [1] but the
symbols were kept as weak wrappers for the standard allocation functions to
maintain binary compatibility. [2][3] The problem is that the call to the
standard function in these weak wrappers is only resolved to the standard
function if there's a call to this standard function in other parts of
Qt5Webengine, because only then is there a non-weak symbol that takes
precedence over the weak one. If there's no such non-weak symbol the call
in the weak wrapper resolves to the weak wrapper itself creating an infinite
call loop that overflows the stack and causes a crash. Some of the
allocation functions are variants of C++ new and delete and it probably
depends on the compiler whether these variants are used in other parts of
Qt5Webengine.
Remove the weak wrappers (make them Linux specific). This isn't binary
compatible but we are already breaking that with the changes to the symbol
versions.

As usual, it is recommended to rebuild or reinstall all the
dependent ports and the lang/ghc port itself in one of the following
ways:
# portmaster -w -r ghc
or
# portupgrade -fr lang/ghc
In case of pkg(8), it is probably safer to remove all the GHC-dependent
packages along with GHC and reinstall everything from scratch. For
example:
# pkg query "%ro" ghc > ghc-pkgs.txt
# pkg delete -y lang/ghc
# pkg install -y `cat ghc-pkgs.txt`
During update some hs-* ports got two PORTREVISION bumps in a row. Other ports
got a PORTVERSION update together with one PORTREVISION bump. This is caused
by bulk-bumping PORTREVISION of all hs-* ports. There are a lot of them updated,
so figuring out which ones require a bump and which are not is too tedious.

Split out evdev headers (input.h, input-event-codes.h, uinput.h) into their
own port, devel/evdev-proto, and update those to be current with the Linux
4.19 kernel. This is done in order to be able to update the rest of the
FreeBSD input stack, which is forthcoming.
By splititng out the evdev headers we can update them independent of other
updates in v4l_compat, which makes it easier for the graphics team to keep
track of them and keep them updated as needed.
Update devel/libevdev from 1.4.4 to 1.5.9 instead of trying to make it work
with the updated headers. This will be further updated.
Update devel/py-evdev from 0.5.0 to 0.8.1 instead of trying to make it work
with the updated evdev headers.
Update consumers to use devel/evdev-proto rather than multimedia/v4l_compat
as needed, and bump portrevisions.
This is the first step in getting the FreeBSD input stack (libevdev,
libinput and so on) updated to newer versions.
Many thanks to all who have helped out with testing, code and exp-runs.
Apologies if I've forgotten to add any names.

Since glib-mkenums was rewritten in python in glib 2.53.5, glib20 seems
to no longer need perl5 at runtime. This makes perl5 a build dep only.
Removing the run dep causes some other ports to fail, so add the build
dep to those where needed.

* Add PKGNAMESUFFIX and rename the directory. This was done to show
that IM6 is not the "main" version. But still fully supported by upstream.
* Convert a number of options to optionhelpers.
* Add option for ISO/IEC 23008-12:2017 HEIF suport
* Add comment to pkg-descr explaining IM6's "legacy" tag.
* Add comment to the patch-config_policy.xml file why it still needed.
Please note that IM7 is not a drop in replacement due to library API and
command arguments changes. And as a result ports need to decide for themself
which version to use.
Chase these changes in all the ports that using IM6.

After a discussion on the mailing list on moving manpages to
${PREFIX}/share/man for consistency with base where it is
installed in usr/share/man, it appeared the same should happen
to GNU info files which were installed under share in base and
not in ports.
Now texinfo is not in base on any of the supported version of FreeBSD
it is possible to proceed to this move and it is easier to do than
the manpage change.
Other benefit than consistency are less patching: all build tools but
cmake are expecting info files to be under share/info and cmake (patched here)
was having an exception for BSD so the patch makes FreeBSD case less
specific for them

Upstream used to distribute protocol headers as separate packages, but has
decided to merge those to a common package, named xorgproto. This update
tracks that change.
* Add a new port, x11/xorgproto, with are protocol headers for xorg.
* Hook the new protocol port to the build and to infrastructure in
bsd.xorg.mk.
* Update all ports with a dependency on any of the old *proto packages to

As usual, it is recommended to rebuild or reinstall all the
dependent ports and the lang/ghc port itself in one of the following
ways:
# portmaster -w -r ghc
or
# portupgrade -fr lang/ghc
In case of pkg(8), it is probably safer to remove all the GHC-dependent
packages along with GHC and reinstall everything from scratch. For
example:
# pkg query "%ro" ghc > ghc-pkgs.txt
# pkg delete -y lang/ghc
In ghc-pkgs.txt, check and remove all the packages that have been moved
on the update, then use this command:
# pkg install -y `cat ghc-pkgs.txt`
